Eichler Edition: Concrete Slab Floors

Once we painted the walls it was time to tackle the floors and this was not small feet.  Our house is 1700 square feet and all of it had Asbestos tile.  We received multiple quotes and perspectives on how to properly remove and dispose of it before deciding to tackle it ourselves.  Fortunately the Asbestos was contained within the tiles and only becomes airborne and harmful if broken so we carefully popped each tile out and disposed of them accordingly.  One exception was that our living room had cork tiles glued to the floor and these were a real pain in the ass (as seen in the first photo).  Luckily these do not contained Asbestos but they broke frequently and left quite a bit of cork and glue attached to our concrete slab. Once the floors were removed we knew we couldn't live with the ugly slab even if it was to be temporary so we decided to invest in 3 gallons of Grey Floor paint and go to town painting every inch of our now exposed concrete slab.
