DIY Hanging Planter

Supplies Needed:
Cotton or Nylon Rope
Scissors
Plastic or lightweight planter without irrigation hole
Plant and soil

Instructions:
Step One: Cut rope into 8 equal pieces (at least 4-5 ft each). It is way better to have extra rope than not enough.
Step Two: Gather all 8 pieces of rope and tie a knot in one end, leaving a little extra rope (1-2 inches) below the knot for decoration.
Step Three: Separate the rope into 4 groups, each with 2 pieces of rope (should resemble a large cross).
Step Four: Begin trying knots into the first section of the rope about 1-2 inches from the center for small pots and 2-4 inches if using a large pot. Continue knotting until all 4 sections have been tied, then lay back into the cross shape to easily differentiate each section.
Step Five: Separate the rope by taking the left of one group and matching it with the rope directly to the right from another group.
Step Six: Tie another set of knots into these new groups maintaining the same length above the previous knot. Once all 4 groups have been tied the pattern should resemble a cross surrounded by a square.
Step Seven: Repeat step 5 by separating the strings then repeat step 6 by matching the outermost piece from one group with the closest piece of rope to the left. Make another set of knots to resemble a square around the exiting square with the cross in the middle. If using a larger pot you may want to repeat this step for a third time in order to completely wrap the plant in rope and provide additional stability.
Step Eight: Place the plant in the center of the knots with the first large knot directly under the center of the pot.  Pull the the four sections of loose rope up around the pot so the knotted area holds it in place. Determine how high or low you want your pot to hang then tie a final knot with all 8 pieces, trim excess rope leaving 1-2 inches at the top for a tassel.
